| There have been questions as to the ranking of
certain teams after the first week of play. The sad reality is that
getting scores and getting them correct the first time is a risky
venture, especially right off the bat. For example, one team was
reported to have scored either 22 or 36. What do you do with that?
Instead of worrying about the ranking of the first week, which are
totally irrelevant by now, I updated the scores with the latest reports
and you will see that they give a much more accurate rating for each
team. Remember that teams that have played two games are much more
accurate than teams that have played one. That should answer one
particular question I'm expecting to receive. Feel free to ask
questions. I was told that at one point the Minor and Major ratings were
identical and at another that the Major was identical to the Bantam.
Hopefully we can henceforth get the ratings posted correctly because
that seems to confuse people. |

| The first games are in and they tell us nothing except that one team beat another one. They might be the two worst teams or the two best teams. Who knows? Next week things will make a little more sense. By the fourth week we should get a fairly good picture. There are always lots of upsets to enjoy. If you lost your first game, it won't matter by the end of the season. We've seen lots of teams that were not very good the first few weeks but once they got things together they were tough to deal with. Play ball. (Okay, that's really baseball but I couldn't say start your engines.) |
